Tips for Vape Beginner

1.Choose the Right Device
As a beginner, you want something simple, reliable, and low-maintenance. Avoid complex, high-powered “box mods” for now. Instead, look into these options:

Disposables: The easiest entry point. They come pre-charged and pre-filled with e-liquid. When they run out, you throw them away. No maintenance required.

Prefilled Pod Systems: A great step up. The device is rechargeable, but you buy pre-filled liquid pods that click right into the top. When a pod is empty, you swap it for a new one.

Refillable Pod Systems: Most cost-effective in the long run. You recharge the battery and fill the pod with your own choice of e-liquid.

2. Understand E-Liquid & Nicotine Strengths

E-liquids (or vape juices) generally come in two different styles of nicotine, which drastically change how they feel:

Nicotine Salts (Nic Salts): These are formulated to be smoother at higher nicotine strengths. They deliver a quick throat hit similar to a traditional cigarette and are perfect for smaller, low-powered pod devices.

Freebase Nicotine: This is standard vape juice. It tends to have a harsher throat hit at higher strengths, so it is usually vaped at lower strengths ($3 mg to $6 mg) in larger devices that produce big clouds.

Choosing your strength: If you are transitioning from heavy smoking, a higher nic salt ($10 mg to $20 mg) is usually recommended. If you weren’t a heavy smoker, start much lower or choose nicotine-free (0 mg) options.

3. Master the Two Inhaling Techniques

How you draw vapor into your lungs matters. Most beginner devices are designed for one specific style:

Mouth-to-Lung (MTL): You draw the vapor into your mouth first, hold it for a second, and then inhale it into your lungs (exactly like smoking a cigarette or using a straw). Disposables and pod systems are almost always MTL.

Direct-to-Lung (DTL): You inhale the vapor directly into your lungs in one deep breath (like taking a deep breath through an asthma inhaler). This is used for larger, powerful devices and creates large vapor clouds.

4. Golden Rules for Beginner

Puffs matter

More puffs on the device usually more expensive, however it will be more value compare to single puff.

Maintenance

If you choose a refillable or reusable device, keep these quick tips in mind to avoid a bad experience:

⚠️ Prime your coils: When using a brand-new refillable pod or coil, fill it with juice and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes before taking your first puff. This allows the cotton wick to fully saturate. If you vape too early, you will instantly burn the dry cotton, ruining the coil.

Don’t let the liquid run dry: Always keep your e-liquid level above the exposed cotton holes on your coil to prevent dry hits (which taste terrible and burn your throat).

Stay hydrated: Vaping naturally dries out your mouth and throat. Keep a bottle of water nearby!
